Strengths: 

Kindness
The hostile persona he puts on in front of others is a mask to hide the fact that he's actually a very kind character; a trait clearly seen when he’s younger. Back then, his brother and sensei expressed concern that he was too kind to kill vampires effectively. A concern that turned out to have merit when he tried to save a vampire slotted for execution and ended up becoming its victim. He even botched his first kill unable to pull the trigger until he had no choice. After a year of relentlessly hunting down Level E vampires, Zero no longer hesitates before pulling the trigger. Experience hardened him. Yet, with his memories stolen he no longer remembers why he closed himself off from his emotions and he's slowly started reverting back to the kind person he used to be but with a broader understanding of the world making him less prone to exploitation due to naivety. 


Strength of Will
For 4 years, his strength of will kept him from turning into a vampire, a monumental task. His will alone kept him human until he couldn't fight his descent anymore. This same determination is what allowed him to rebel against his creator and go against her. Vampires who are made by another cannot disobey their master. Yet, Zero refused to do her bidding and found the strength to disobey and even harm the woman who made him, another feat unheard of in their world. Furthermore, after the attack on their school, Zero loses both his brother and the girl he cares for. He's left alone to deal with the aftermath. He picks himself up with little complaint and fully submerges himself into his duties as a vampire hunter. It gives him a purpose.


Protective
No matter his feelings, his condition, he will always put the wellbeing of others before his own. He became a night guardian for this reason, tasked with enforcing the rules that kept the peace between the day and night class. Later, he came into his heritage and became a full fledged vampire hunter who's role is to protect the peace between humans and vampires. No matter his role, Zero will always be a guardian. He's too kind, too stubborn to watch another suffer. He was powered up to become someone else's weapon but instead ended up becoming a shield for others. A knight in his own right. 


Weaknesses: 

Sacrificial Knight
Zero portrays strong characteristics of the sacrificial knight. He has no regard for his own health and safety often putting himself in danger acting as a shield for others. This side of Zero derives from a mix of his own kind nature and the duality that exists inside him - Hunter and vampire. As a child, Zero realized a startling truth: the reason why his brother was pained with a sickly body was because he’d acted like a vampire in their mother’s womb and almost devoured him. Guilt mixed with unrestricted love made him unable to deny his brother anything. Even when he betrayed their family by leading their killer into their home, Zero could not find it in him to hate him, yet he finds it easy to hate himself. The same scenario plays out with the girl he cares for, Yuuki. Early on he's shown protecting her from physical and emotional harm even at the cost of his own happiness and welfare. Later, when she steals his memories, Zero cannot find it him to hater her either and is still willing to protect her.


Distant
Zero is a very distant person fitting neither with his classmates or the Hunters who see him as a liability. They have him under surveillance under the guise of a Hunter assigned as his partner. Zero obediently follows along with their orders and doesn’t try to defend himself. He ignores their constant stares and comments, preferring to focus on his duties instead. Zero isn't a social person.  The fact that he ignored most of the boys in his grade, and yelled at the girls to scare them off is part of the reason why he never made any friends. Now that he's a year old and wiser, he's nicer to his peers and gets along with them relatively well, but none of them are his friends. He's civil, nothing more. He doesn't easily open up to people, let alone emotionally, so when it does it, it matters. 


Self-Hate
Zero lives with the knowledge that he has become the very monster he's supposed to kill. He hates himself for craving the same blood as the monster who murdered his family. His Hunter upbringing further perpetuates this self-hate. When another Hunter is turned into a vampire before being killed, the other Hunters acknowledge that in face of what she had become, death was preferable. Zero swallows his comments and soon after reaches his breaking point. He visits his brother's grave and asks his tombstone if there's still anything human left in him. He coped with his brother's death by shutting down his emotions to keep his bloodlust in check, yet by locking them away, he also locked away what made him human. Even with his stolen memories, Zero has yet to accept himself and instead merely tolerates what he is since his instincts still plague him, even if his bloodlust has become much more manageable. 


Powers/Abilities: 

Vampire Hunter: Hunter powers are genetic and specifically designed to kill/hurt/incapacitate vampires. Spells can be placed on buildings to protect against vampire invasion, and extends to memory manipulation. His powers allow him to detect vampires from afar and withstand Pureblood compulsion as well as wield anti-vampire weapons.

Vampire: Accelerated healing, enhanced speed, strength, hearing, and smell. Blood cravings. The sun doesn't bother him because he wasn't born a vampire. Though, Hunter weapons can hurt him because he's still a vampire.

Other Noteworthy Traits:
Given intensive survival training since he was a young boy and versed him in hand to hand combat as well as weaponry. He's also a top tracker and detective. Even without his supernatural abilities, he's not defenseless. He's rated a genius with his best subject being math and science. He's also a very good cook!

Weapons & Other Special Inventory:

Weapon
Name: Bloody Rose
Description: An anti-vampire gun.
Abilities/Powers:  Bloody Rose shoots bullets that are be-spelled to seal a vampire's rapid healing ability. A mortal wound from it will kill a vampire. In its evolved state, Bloody Rose is absorbed into his body allowing him to fight via silver vampiric rose vines that are an extension of the Bloody Rose. The endless vines, which are heavily laced with razor sharp thorns, can slice through almost anything. Any spilled blood is absorbed by the vines, feeding his bloodlust. In its second evolution, the vampiric rose vines construct themselves into a coherent form to become a large deadly wolf with sharp claws and a sharper bite that can easily swallow a person whole. 
Limitations:  It's evolved form becomes more like a vampire--a reflection of its wielder. Although it feeds off his opponents, it also feeds on Zero's blood. Thus, he is limited by his own strength which Bloody Rose drinks away over time. After the one year arc, Zero is shown wielding this version of Bloody Rose much easier than when first obtained it meaning he's learned how to better control it. So, although it drinks his blood it devours his enemies blood first. Due to his new found control Bloody Rose does not seem to drain him as it did before. Over time, Zero is shown to easily wield both evolved forms of Bloody Rose a reflection of the power he’s gained from the blood he’s consumed.

Pets: White Lily. A mare. Zero raised her from a foal and the two share a unique bond. 

Special Inventory: Zero always carries a silver case on him. Inside are a supply of bloodtablets that calms his bloodlust.

Extra Item: I'd like another set of bloodtablets for Zero. He's going to need them!


Color:  
Red. It's the color most associated with him in official canon art due to his vampire side and duty as a Hunter. Guns and roses are his motifs along with wolves but white isn't an option.
